Police search for two suspects in east Knoxville shooting | News
Knoxville police are searching for suspects in an east Knoxville shooting that sent a woman to the hospital Monday night.
When police arrived to the crime scene at 2700 Parkview Avenue, they found Sanita Burgins, 42, with a gunshot wound in her stomach, according to a Knoxville Police Department release.
Crews took her to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Officials said they expect that she will recover from her injuries.
Witnesses told police that a fight broke out after two men that the victim knew were asked to leave her house. During the argument, one of the men shot Burgins and fired the weapon at another woman but missed.
Investigators are currently searching for the two suspects.
