(WBIR) Crews put out a small fire inside an East Knoxville home Saturday night after a neighbor called 911 after seeing smoke coming from the front of the house.

Knoxville Fire Department said crews got to the scene on the 700 Block of South Chestnut Street just before 6 p.m. No one was home at the time.

Firefighters put out the small blaze which was confined to the front of the house.

According to KFD Capt. DJ Corcoran, firefighters had to move through items piled up to their knees while inside the home.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.
